Bill Belichick is the media's favorite topic these days, but also has UNC football fans excited for his first season at the helm this fall.
In fact, UNC football tickets are selling like hot cakes. Brian Murphy of WRAL noted the impressive numbers, as indicated by Directior of Athletics Bubba Cunningham, in the social media post below.
Cunningham stated that the university has sold out of its allotment of tickets for the 2025 season. That's no measly number of tickets: that's 20,000 tickets that have been sold.
To add to that, Cunningham also mentioned that the ticket price went up by an AVERAGE of 25%, receiving no pushback from the fanbase. That just goes to show how pumped up fans are for this next chapter of football at the University of North Carolina.
Ever since his hiring a few months back, the anticipation around UNC football has felt to be at an all-time high. The Tar Heels replaced Mack Brown, arguably the program's greatest football coach, with one of the best to ever do it at the NFL level.
Not every day that you see a program make such a major change involving two legendary head coaches.
Fans don't want to miss Belichick's first season at the helm in Chapel Hill, as you could expect ticket prices from third-party sources to be astronomically high. Especially if the UNC football program can get off to a good start, the prices might even skyrocket from there based on the results on the field.
While some naysayers will drift the attention to off the field topics (even citing that Belichick won't be the head coach of the program by the start of the 2025 season), Tar Heel fans are hyped up about this new chapter of UNC football this fall.
Don't let the media fool you on that one.
