Bill Belichick and the UNC football program have struck once again on the recruiting trail!
On Thursday, four-star wide receiver Keeyun "Red" Chapman committed to North Carolina. Chapman will now officially team up with his brother, Keegan, at the college level, as the latter committed to the Tar Heels just under a week ago.
Chapman was down to two finalists, deciding between North Carolina and ACC foe Florida State. Tar Heel fans waited anxiously for an announcement from this talented wide receiver, especially after Keegan committed, as the hope was that a package deal was heading to Chapel Hill.
Fortunately, that's the case!
A 6-foot-4, 195-pounder from Jackson, Alabama, Chapman ranks as 247Sports Composite's No. 24-ranked wide receiver among the Class of 2026. He is also viewed as a top-10 prospect within his home state of Alabama.
The UNC football program is getting an absolute stud. A multi-sport athlete at the high school level, Chapman is coming off a monster junior season on the gridiron, a year in which he recorded 1,322 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.
This is a major addition for the UNC football program's 2026 recruiting class, as Chapman now ranks as the Tar Heels' top commitment from this cycle. His addition also helped the UNC football program make a major jump in the rankings, moving up five spots from No. 20 to No. 15 in 247Sports' updated team rankings for this recruiting class.
Many questioned whether or not Belichick and his new-look staff would be able to recruit talent effectively. While we haven't seen a Belichick-recruited class on the field yet, the early signs are very encouraging, especially given the amount of talent the UNC football program has been able to secure in this particular recruiting class.
