The UNC women's basketball program defeated Ball State on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in The Bahamas.

While there were quite a few Tar Heels who made a major impact, it was the 17-year-old freshman who earned our "Tar Heel of the Game" award:

Lanie Grant

Coming off the bench, Grant led the UNC women's basketball program with 15 points. The freshman guard connected on three of her four shots from beyond the arc and drained six of her seven free throw attempts, as her offensive production ended up being a major factor in the victory.

Just five games into her UNC women's basketball career, Grant is starting to look really comfortable on the court. Considering she's only 17-years-old (and should still be a senior in high school!) Grant is proving that she's more than ready to make a major impact for this year's team.
