"Tar Heel of the Game" for the UNC basketball program's win over La Salle

Could this be the game to build the confidence of this transfer forward?

Let's face it: it's been a rough go for Cade Tyson early on in his UNC basketball career.

The transfer from Belmont just hasn't been able to figure it out, as he's been used sparingly throughout the first stretch of the season. A prolific three-point shooter, Tyson simply hasn't been able to do that much, until Saturday afternoon at the Dean Smith Center.

Tyson had (what everyone hopes was) a breakout performance in the UNC basketball program's victory over La Salle. The junior forward scored a game-high 23 points, more importaly, knocking down five shots from beyond the arc, as he showed flashes of the guy the Tar Heels need him to be in order to help the team be successful.

While he's taken plenty of criticism from fans, Tyson continues to put in the work to get better, and the results showed on Saturday afternoon. Who knows, maybe a performance like this was one that will help him trend in the right direction as he gets more comfortable at North Carolina.

We all hope it does end up being the boost he needs, because this team could benefit a ton if he can be a consistent contributor, especially on the offensive side of the floor.
