"Tar Heel of the Game" for the UNC basketball program's victory over Dayton
It was an epic night for the UNC basketball program in the opening round of the 2024 Maui Invitational.
Storming back from a 21-point deficit, the Tar Heels found a way to get the job done, securing a victory over Dayton to advance to Tuesday night's semifinals.
Without this guy, the comeback isn't possible, as Seth Trimble is our "Tar Heel of the Game" for the victory over Dayton.
Seth Trimble
I don't know about you, but I take time out of my day every single day to thank the basketball gods for keeping Seth Trimble in Carolina Blue.
There's no player in the country who has improved more than Trimble, who seems to have career night after career night. His latest outing was a big one: a 27-point, 10-rebound effort, as he's the first UNC basketball guard since Cole Anthony to score at least 25 points while recording 10 or more rebounds in a single game.
Trimble and fellow backcourt mate RJ Davis combined for 57 of the Tar Heels' 92 points, as they were both instrumental in the victory. While Davis' 30 points could've easily won him this honor, Trimble was the X-Factor for the Tar Heels in this one.
Now that we're a few games into the 2024-2025 season, Trimble is taking every opportunity to prove that his rise to stardom isn't a fluke:
This Seth Trimble is here to stay.
