Update: August 29- 12:50 PM EST
Contrary to the broadcast report, Abou Jaoude was listed as questionable to return due to a hand injury. He returned to the game with a bit of a wrap on his hand and immediately made a big tackle on third down.
Abou Jaoude seems to be okay, but for now, it will be a storyline to watch as this game continues to unfold.

The UNC football program's star defensive lineman recorded a sack, one that ended with his leg being rolled up on. While there wasn't an update on his status just yet, the ESPN broadcast showed Abou Jaoude walking to the locker room with two members of the training staff.
Abou Jaoude was simply a force to be reckoned with during the 2025 season, finishing his first season on campus with 10.5 sacks in 12 games, earning second-team All-ACC honors for his efforts. Without a doubt, the UNC football program is hoping that the injury isn't serious and that he'll be able to return to action.
