Have a night, Seth Trimble!
The senior guard poured in a career-high 30 points to lead the UNC basketball program to a much-needed top-25 victory over No. 24 Louisville on Monday night in Chapel Hill.
Trimble didn't waste any time
On Saturday, Trimble was barely a factor in the first half against Syracuse.
In fact, his teammates encouraged him in the locker room to be more aggressive, something that paid off over the final 20 minutes of that game.
Fast forward two days, and you can tell that Trimble wasted no time, as his agressive play from the start played a huge role in North Carolina being able to secure the victory over a tough Louisville squad.

While most will talk about his 30 points on an efficient 11of 16 from the field, his defensive play was vintage Seth Trimble-like. While drawing the assignment of trying to slow down Mikel Brown Jr., a projected NBA Draft lottery pick, Brown needed 25 shots to score 24 points, connecting on just 9 of his shots from the floor.
A steady offensive balance
While Trimble carried a good bulk of the scoring load, the other Tar Heels all added contributions of their own.
Both Henri Veesaar and Luka Bogavac scored 12 points while Jarin Stevenson just missed scoring in double-figures, ending the night with 9 points. Derek Dixon scored all of his seven points in the second half.
The run that made the difference
North Carolina took over to begin the second half, starting the period on a 10-2 run. The Tar Heels were able to build a double-digit lead, one that was crucial given Louisville's attempt late in the game to spark a comeback effort.
Free throw woes
While you obviously take the win, the free throw shooting was once again... not good.
In fact, North Carolina missed 10 of 19 attempts from the charity stripe, something that has been an issue for this team for essentially the majority of the season.
We hate to play the "if" game, but IF you make even 4-5 of those attempts, this is a totally different ballgame.
What's Next?
UNC remains at home when they welcome Virginia Tech into Chapel Hill for a late night clash on Saturday at the Dean Smith Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 PM EST.
