Seth Trimble named to the 2024 Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team
While the Maui Invitational didn't go as the UNC basketball program had hoped, Seth Trimble continued his strong play against some strong competition.
In recognition of his efforts, Trimble was named to the 2024 Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Trimble opened up the Maui Invitational with a career outing, recording a career-high 27 points in a double-double effort. His performance helped the Tar Heels secure a two-point victory over Dayton, a game that North Carolina trailed by as much as 21 points.
In the Tar Heels loss to No. 4-ranked Auburn, Trimble continued to put the ball in the basket. The junior guard led the UNC basketball program with 17 points, and even though they couldn't overcome an early deficit, Trimble played a large role in the Tar Heels comeback efforts.
To wrap up the Maui Invitational, Trimble made plenty of winning plays in an overtime contest against Michigan State. In fact, overtime isn't possible without Trimble's three-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the game.
Trimble had 9 points, four steals, three assists, two rebounds and a block in the game, and while his scoring number took a dip in the final game of a back-to-back-to-back stretch, Trimble was just as important even though he wasn't the team's primary scorer.
The growth that Trimble has displayed this season is astonishing, as his hard work and dedication to his craft are surely paying off. On Thanksgiving, UNC basketball fans are thankful that Trimble elected to remove his name from the transfer portal to return to North Carolina, as his development has been a major factor for this year's UNC basketball squad.
