Seth Trimble knows a thing about the history of the UNC basketball program.
From growing up watching his older brother, J.P. Tokoto, compete for North Carolina to making his own memories as a Tar Heel as a four-year member of the program, it's safe to say that Trimble and his family bleed Carolina Blue.
We've heard from the likes of Roy Williams and Tyler Hansbrough on the matter, as both UNC legends are firmly opposed to moving the Tar Heels' home. Most former players echo this sentiment, and Trimble, one of the leaders of this current North Carolina squad, firmly stands behind the legends who came before him.
Seth Trimble is passionate about not moving the Smith Center
Trimble made a guest appearance on The Field of 68's podcast, "ACC Insider." Co-host Jeff Goodman asked the senior guard about his opinion on the widely-discussed topic, and for those who are in favor of keeping the Dean Smith Center in its current location, Trimble's answer surely didn't disappoint.

"You can't move it."

Here is Trimble's full response to the question:
"You can't move it. You can't move it. I mean, I think when you think of the University of North Carolina, instantly what you think of is that gym.
If you take it away, you're taking the history. You're taking the impact it has on the campus, and you're taking away everything it does for the university. So I think without a doubt you can't take it. Plus, Coach Williams has already come out and said you can't move, you gotta renovate. Tyler Hansbrough said it. So if they're saying it, you just gotta listen to 'em. They've done that."
Trimble has experienced life as a Tar Heel in ways that most never have the chance to do. From being a young fan dreaming of one day running out of the Smith Center tunnel to now fulfilling that dream, Trimble is yet another example of how that building has changed his life for the better. Sure, Trimble (like many alumni who spoke on the matter) won't be able to play at North Carolina forever, but tearing down the historic venue would be heartbreaking for those who have experienced what it's like playing for this legendary program.
One day, guys like Trimble and Hansbrough will want to share the Dean Smith Center with their families, reminiscing on the times they spent in those hallowed halls.
While a new venue would likely provide more financial opportunities for the university, it will never replicate the history and memories that have occurred at the Dean Smith Center.
