Not many college student-athletes can say that they've experienced more than Seth Trimble has during his time with the UNC basketball program.

During his freshman season, the preseason No. 1-ranked Tar Heels failed miserably to meet the expectations, failing to even make the NCAA Tournament.

As a sophomore, Trimble was a part of an ACC regular season title team, one that had a disappointing end to their NCAA Tournament run (one that many expected to be much longer).

Last season, Trimble took on a bigger role and saw another team that struggled throughout the majority of the regular season, but this time, the group was able to go on a late run to sneak into the NCAA Tournament.

Now, Trimble, the undisputed senior leader for the Tar Heels, will now look to guide this team to heights even he hasn't seen during his tenure in Chapel Hill.

Career at North Carolina

Trimble has appeared in 102 games as a Tar Heel, making 21 starts (18 of which came during his junior season).

The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native's production made a significant increase during his junior season, becoming more of a scoring threat with the ability to drive his way to the basket. After scoring in double-figures just seven times over his first two college seasons, Trimble accounted for 24 double-digit games as a junior. His season-high came against Dayton, a game in which he poured in 27 points to help North Carolina pull off a major comeback victory.

Following the 2024-2025 season, Trimble earned the Marvin Williams Carolina Way Award, given to the player who best exemplifies playing hard, being unselfish and putting the team first.

What to Expect in 2025-2026

When you think of what you can expect from Seth Trimble, the answer is rather obvious at this point.

You can expect Trimble to do whatever it takes for his team to win, and is now the clear-cut leader of this year's group.

Just like he's seen during his time in Chapel Hill, it's now his turn to step into that leadership role. An unselfish player who can do a little bit of everything, you can expect Trimble to attack the rim a lot (especially with the increased height along the front court), make the right play while facilitating the basketball and, of course, lock down the opposing team's top scoring threat as he's done essentially since he's stepped foot on campus.

Let's just hope that Trimble won't have to guard any 6-foot-10 bigs in the post this season, like he was tasked to do a year ago!

Bold Prediction

Seth Trimble goes out in style, earning First-Team All-ACC honors.

Not only does he earn All-ACC accolades, he makes his first ever appearance in the Elite Eight, as he'll play a major role in the UNC basketball program's deep NCAA Tournament run this spring.
