Seth Trimble has plenty of experience in the Duke vs. North Carolina rivalry.

On Saturday night, the senior guard will take the floor in Chapel Hill for the final time against UNC's arch rival, a moment in time that he wants to make the most of.

Trimble spoke to the media about his mindset leading up to this matchup, a moment he is fully focused on cherishing and making the absolute most of.

Cherish the Moment

When asked about his emotions leading up to Saturday night, Trimble delivered a heartfelt message describing how he is feeling.

“My emotions this year have been high. I’m really just cherishing this matchup, this opportunity, and a blessing like this. A lot of people in this world would die to be in my position. So, I’m really making sure that I’m making the best out of it. This is my last home game with the Duke-UNC match-up, so I’m just making it the best that I can, but I’m doing a pretty good job of letting the guys know how much tension there is during this matchup, what the stakes are at, the history.”

Now serving as the elder statesman in the UNC locker room, Trimble is responsible for leading his team and providing guidance ahead of this highly anticipated matchup. As someone who has experienced the highs and lows of what this rivalry can bring, it's safe to say that Trimble has been very vocal this week, helping prepare his teammates (most of whom are newcomers to this series) for an experience that will be different than anything they've seen before.

Playing one game in this historic rivalry is special in itself. Being able to play four years worth of games against the Blue Devils is something we might not see much of moving forward, considering how the transfer portal and NIL have changed the college basketball landscape drastically.

Trimble is what we call an "old school guy," given that staying at one school for your entire college career is hard to find nowadays. While Saturday night will be bittersweet for him, you can rest assured that he'll be ready to play, looking to secure a win against Duke in his final home game against the team from down the road.
