Every player who puts on the Carolina Blue uniform dreams of making a monumental play in a game that turns out to be a win for the Tar Heels over rival Duke.

Seth Trimble is a guy who has bled Carolina Blue for a very long time, and his moment to shine on the sport's biggest stage came on Saturday night in Chapel Hill.

Playing his final home game in this historic rivalry, Trimble left it all out on the line- literally. After the Tar Heels fell behind on multiple occasions, they roared back to tie the game with under a minute to play, having a chance to win it with 10.7 remaining on the clock.

Side note: North Carolina never led up to this point in the game, but would lead when it mattered the most thanks to Trimble's heroics.

Freshman guard Derek Dixon drove to the lane and found an open Trimble in the corner. The senior guard fired a shot that was nothing but left, leaving just .4 seconds on the clock. After the court was stormed and cleared off to finish the game, Duke didn't have enough time to set up a shot to force overtime, as Trimble's heroics sealed the deal in this incredible comeback win for North Carolina.

While a lot of the talk surrounded the star freshmen that both teams possess, it's very fitting that the dedicated senior who poured his heart and soul into this program had this moment to shine.

In the current world of college athletics, the transfer portal (along with other factors such as the "one-and-done" rule and NIL), have greatly impacted the landscape. It's extremely rare to see four-year guys sticking with the same program, as Trimble is now an anomaly (which is the complete opposite of the trend we saw 10+ years ago where guys stuck it out for the long haul).

For a guy like Trimble, who was raised in a UNC family, you can tell just how much this moment means to him.

Following the game, head coach Hubert Davis summed up perfectly the moment that his senior captain experienced just a short while prior:

"He's deserving of being remembered forever."

The Tar Heels' head coach went on to describe the moment, as his emotions were what we all were feeling following that incredible play:

"I'm still a little numb right now ... It happened to the perfect person. He should be celebrated. What he's meant to me, what he's meant to this team and this program."

It's safe to say that Seth Trimble has firmly cemented his legacy in the most historic rivalry that college sports has to offer. While he already developed into a fan favorite, there's no doubt that the love for Trimble grew even more on Saturday night.

When you beat rival Duke (especially in this type of fashion), you're going to be a hero at North Carolina.
