Seth Trimble is ready to make a statement in what will be his final season as a member of the UNC basketball program.

The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native is one of 20 players to earn a spot on the Jerry West Award Preseason Watch List ahead of the 2025-2026 season.

The Jerry West Award celebrates its 12th year by highlighting the top shooting guards in Division I men’s college basketball. Trimble fits the bill, as he is expected to be an integral part of the UNC basketball program's starting lineup this upcoming season.

Trimble took a big leap during his junior season, becoming more of a scoring threat with the ability to drive his way to the basket. After scoring in double-figures just seven times over his first two college seasons, Trimble accounted for 24 double-digit games as a junior, including a high of 27 points against Dayton in late November.

For his efforts, Trimble earned the Marvin Williams Carolina Way Award, given to the player who best exemplifies playing hard, being unselfish and putting the team first. Now, Trimble is the clear-cut leader of this new look team, as the goal is for him to pave the way by showing the newcomers what the Carolina Way is all about.

Trimble and the UNC basketball program open up the 2025-2026 season at home on Monday, November 3 when they host Central Arkansas in non-conference action.
