Roy Williams is simply a national treasure!
The former head coach of the Tar Heels, Williams still (and always will) bleed Carolina Blue. That was very much evident on Saturday night in Chapel Hill, as Williams was celebrating like the entire fanbase was when the Tar Heels pulled off an unthinkable comeback victory.
Roy Williams did his part!
With 30 seconds left in regulation (with the game tied), North Carolina needed a stop to have a chance to win it at the other end. Let's face it: no one could've survived an overtime period- the stress levels were EXTREMELY HIGH!
That's where Williams came into play. Sitting with his wife, Wanda, the camera panned to the Hall of Fame coach, showing him trying to fire up the Dean Smith Center faithful. Williams got everyone hyped by going into his iconic crouch, a move that made the building erupt!

As it typically did when he was on the sidelines, the move helped North Carolina get a huge stop on the defensive end. Some things just never change!

Celebrate away, Roy!
After Seth Trimble knocked down the incredible game-winner, Tar Heel nation celebrated in insane style! Williams, who recently had surgery on his knee, wasn't sitting this one out, as the ESPN broadcast captured some incredible shots of the legendary coach as he celebrated just like we all did.
Undoubtedly, Roy Williams was HYPED!

A moment to remember forever
It's safe to say that Trimble's shot will be replayed millions of times when this historic rivalry is mentioned. It has rightfully earned its spot among the most iconic moments we've seen in the battle of Tobacco Road (and that says a lot given how many insane moments we've already witnessed!).
Little did we know, we'd get footage of Roy Williams that will also circulate for quite some time, as the former head coach is enjoying retirement in the only way he knows:
Supporting the UNC basketball program and being their biggest fan!

Roy Williams is truly one of a kind; there is no one like him. Boy, are we lucky that he dedicated his life to the UNC basketball program, one that still reaps the benefits of his presence to this day and will for many years to come.
