Roy Williams certainly isn't giving up on Hubert Davis.
In fact, the legendary former head coach of the UNC basketball program is still Davis' biggest advocate, showing his continuous support for his predecessor during an appearance on The Zach Gelb show.
Here's what Williams had to say regarding all the chatter from those who believe Davis isn't the right man for the job.

"He's the right person for the job. It makes me cringe, the way people are talking... We've had tough moments this year... But I'd love for it to turn around so I could look at all those suckers and tell them to shut up"
Now, some will say, "Williams helped pick his replacement, of course he's going to not want to admit that he was wrong." While that's an angle some will look at it from, it's also important to remember one key thing.
Roy Williams is as passionate about the University of North Carolina (and the basketball program) as anyone.
Williams doesn't want to see the UNC basketball program, one that he led to multiple national championships, fall apart right in front of his eyes. While he may not publically admit it, Williams would be one of the first to let administration know that things are simply not working out.
Based on his comments, Williams seems as confident as ever that the UNC basketball program has the right guy in charge at this current moment in time.
Williams is hoping for the opportunity to stick it to the naysayers who have lost faith in Davis' ability to lead this historic program. For the sake of the program, we all hope he's right.
