Happy Birthday RJ Davis!

On his 23rd birthday, Davis was named a Preseason First-Team All-American by the Associated Press. The fifth-year senior was one of six first-team selections as he was joined by Kansas big man Hunter Dickinson, Auburn forward Johni Broome, Arizona guard (and former Tar Heel) Caleb Love, and Duke freshman Cooper Flagg.

Davis isn't a stranger to preseason recognition. He was recently named the ACC Preseason Player of the Year and was a unanimous pick for the Preseason All-ACC First Team. This comes following his incredible senior season, a year that resulted in an ACC regular season title for the Tar Heels and the ACC Player of the Year honors for Davis.

A consensus first-team All-American a season ago, Davis was simply a "walking bucket," averaging 21.2 points per game while shooting 42.8% from the floor, including nearly 40% from three-point range.

With his No. 4 already set to be honored in the Dean Smith Center rafters once his UNC basketball career comes to a close, Davis looks to not only lead the Tar Heels to a National Championship but hopes that he'll be the last player in program history to wear his number.

Davis returned to the UNC basketball program for his fifth (and final) season with some goals still left to accomplish. While he knows that his No. 4 will be honored once his time as a Tar Heel comes to a close, Davis has goals of leading the UNC basketball program to another national championship this upcoming season.
