Just three weeks away from the start of the regular season, the UNC basketball program hosted its Blue vs. White scrimmage on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill.

While the scrimmage was meant to give fans an early glimpse of this year's team, it left fans concerned about the status of star guard RJ Davis.

Early in the second half, Davis took a hard fall, immediately leading to trainer Doug Halverson coming onto the court to check on him. The fifth-year senior was able to walk off on his own power and, as expected, did not return to the scrimmage.

Following the conclusion of the contest, the UNC basketball program provided an update on Davis, calling his injury a lower back contusion.

The reigning ACC Player of the Year and first-team All-American, Davis is a huge part of the UNC basketball program's plans this season. His status for Tuesday night's exhibition at Memphis will be something to monitor, as he could be forced to sit out (or be held out due to precaution).

The early information seems to indicate that Davis avoided a major injury, but his status (and health) are definitely a concern for the UNC basketball program leading up to the start of the 2024-2025 season.
