RJ Davis continues to climb up the ACC's all-time scorers list.

On Saturday, Davis surpassed Johnny Dawkins for sole possession of third place on the conference's all-time scorers list. Davis now only trails JJ Redick of Duke and the great Tyler Hansbrough on the list.

Yes, we know RJ Davis had a fifth season of eligibility to work with. Nonetheless, you can't punish him for having the opportunity to play another year of college basketball, as it shouldn't take away anything that he's been able to accomplish as a member of the UNC basketball program.

While Hansbrough is very likely out of reach, there's a slight possibility that Davis could surpass Redick for sole possession of second place. He currently trails the former Blue Devil by 177 points with four guaranteed games remaining (three regular season and at least one ACC Tournament game).

It would take some big scoring games and a bit of a run for the Tar Heels in both the ACC Tournament and a potential NCAA Tournament appearance, but given what we've seen from Davis as a scorer, he's more than capable than getting hot and leading this team on that deep postseason run.

Davis and the UNC basketball program return to action on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill when they host the Miami Hurricanes. This will be the second-to-last home game for Davis as he wraps up his UNC basketball career at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.
