Fans of the UNC basketball program don't need to be reminded of what went down that night in Lawrence, Kansas.

North Carolina had a chance to tie the game against the then No. 1 ranked Kansas, but an Elliot Cadeau three-pointer rimmed out as the Tar Heels fell short.

Fast forward nearly two months later, and a similar opportunity was on the table for the sophomore guard.

This time, Cadeau got some redemption, knocking down arguably the biggest shot of his young UNC basketball career.

Cadeau's four-point play helped secure a much-needed win over Notre Dame. While you might say that it's too early to start thinking that the Tar Heels' NCAA Tournament hopes are dwindling, blowing a double-digit lead to the Fighting Irish and coming out on the losing end would have just heightened those thoughts.

Thanks to Cadeau, that's not the case.

Even though he hasn't shot the ball from three-point range as well as he hoped he would through the first 14 games of the 2024-2025 season, he knocked down two clutch triples in the win over Notre Dame. Maybe that's the confidence booster he needs to get on track shooting the basketball, an element that would certainly help the UNC basketball program moving forward.

A lot can change over a span of a few months, just ask Elliot Cadeau. Fortunately for the Tar Heels, Cadeau was able to connect from deep, a shot that might just end up being a spark to help turn the season around for the UNC basketball program.
