When Army running back Kanye Udoh announced that he would enter the transfer portal, he instantly became one of the most prized transfers available.
The sophomore from Mays Landing, New Jersey is coming off an outstanding season, rushing for 1,117 and 10 scores. He had some big-time performances, rushing for 158 yards on two separate occasions.
Now, Udoh will look for his next home, as joining the UNC football program is under serious consideration.
Udoh has a very busy week ahead, as he'll make four official visits. He starts with a trip to Missouri, and will head to the west coast for back-to-back visits to SMU and Arizona State. From there, the 6-foot, 218-pound running back will head to Chapel Hill to meet with Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels coaching staff.
With the official announcement of Omarion Hampton's departure to the NFL, it makes a ton of sense as to why the Tar Heels have been so focused on adding running back depth via the transfer portal. Given that the depth behind Hampton (other than Davion Gause) was suspect at best, showing the need for the program to add some capable bodies to the mix to help spread the load.
Adding a player of Udoh's caliber would be a tremendous addition for the UNC football program.
