Kicking off a six-week tour of blue-blood college basketball programs, five-star prospect Anthony Thompson will arrive in Chapel Hill to visit the North Carolina Tar Heels.
This weekend, Hubert Davis and his team have an opportunity to lay it on thick with the highly coveted recruit before he makes his way to five other programs, including the Indiana Hoosiers, Kentucky Wildcats, and more.
Thompson, who is the No. 3 small forward in the class of 2026 and the No. 1 overall athlete out of the state of Ohio, announced six official visits with some of the best programs in the country.
Anthony Thompson official visit schedule
- North Carolina Tar Heels, Aug. 22
- Ohio State Buckeyes, Aug. 29
- Michigan Wolverines, Sept. 5
- Indiana Hoosiers, Sept. 12
- Texas Longhorns, Sept. 19
- Kentucky Wildcats, Sept. 24
After visiting Chapel Hill, Thompson will make stops in Columbus, Ann Arbor, Bloomington, Austin, and Lexington, in an effort to find the next place he wants to call home.
UNC can set an OV standard for Anthony Thompson
Because Thompson is visiting the Tar Heels first, Hubard and his staff have the opportunity to put all their cards on the table and set the standard for the five subsequent OVs the small forward plans to take.

North Carolina is one of the winningest college basketball programs of all time, only led by the Kansas Jayhawks and Kentucky Wildcats, while actually leading their rivals, the Duke Blue Devils, in the all-time wins rankings.
If Hubard can truly impress Thompson, blowing him out of the water with the Heels' perennial talent, then the rest of his visits may seem below par (and not in the way you aim for on the golf course).

Thompson is scheduled to visit North Carolina over the weekend of Friday, Aug. 22, and head home to visit the Ohio State Buckeyes the following week. When it comes to blue-blood competition, Kentucky will be the Tar Heels' biggest opposition.
