Postseason baseball at Boshamer Stadium. It just makes sense!

For the 13th time in the past 19 seasons, the UNC baseball program has been selected as a regional host for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. This marks the first time since... last season that the Tar Heels served as hosts for college baseball's biggest event.

Three ACC schools made the cut to host: North Carolina, Clemson, and Florida State. Georgia Tech, which won the ACC regular-season crown, did not earn the opportunity to host a regional, making it the first time under this format (since 1999) that the ACC's regular-season kings are not hosting.

There's simply no place like home for the UNC baseball program, as history has been good to them in postseason play in North Carolina. The Diamond Heels boast a 35-7 record in regional games that have occurred at Boshamer Stadium and in Cary, North Carolina, as 11 super regional appearances were a result of their success in their home state.

Considering this year's squad went 25-6 at home, it's safe to say they are thrilled to have more games to be played at the Bosh!

On Monday, the official field of teams for the 2025 NCAA Tournament will be revealed, as North Carolina hopes that the seedings have them as a potential Super Regional host as well. It's possible that the Diamond Heels wouldn't have to travel until they would make their way to Omaha, the goal that this group set out for at the beginning of the season.

The next time you see the UNC baseball program, they'll be taking the field at Boshamer Stadium.
