Vance Honeycutt continues to do Vance Honeycutt-type things.

The junior center fielder had a big-time performance on Saturday afternoon, as his power surge helped lead the UNC baseball program to a victory over defending national champion LSU in the winner's bracket of the Chapel Hill Regional.

With the game still scoreless in the bottom half of the fifth inning, Honeycutt launched a 413-foot blast to give the Diamond Heels a 3-0 lead. The home run was a milestone one for Honeycutt, as it serves as his 60th career blast.

Honeycutt is now just one of five ACC players ever to record 60+ home runs in their collegiate career. He joins Anthony Maisano, J.D. Drew, Pat Clougherty and Nick Kurtz on this exclusive list of players.

While joining the 60-home run club was nice, Honeycutt wasn't done just yet. In his next at-bat, Honeycutt added a solo home run to extend the Diamond Heels' lead to 4-2. It was a timely homer, given the Diamond Heels gave up two runs in the previous half inning.

Honeycutt now has four multi-homer games this season and seven for his career, tying Chris Maples for the UNC baseball program's record.

As we all know at this point, Vance Honeycutt is one of the greatest players to ever wear the Carolina blue, as he continues to add to his already impressive resume. He stepped up in a big-time spot against a very talented LSU squad, as his first homer helped set the tone for the UNC baseball program as they clinched their spot in Sunday night's Chapel Hill Regional final.
