UNC Football program signs 27 players on Signing Day for the Class of 2024
Wednesday was a big day in the college football world, as Early Signing Day was held for the Class of 2024.
With the transfer portal being so relevant, it may take away from the decisions made by these high school student-athletes. However, it is still a special day as programs across the country welcome in their new talent that will hopefully make an impact for the next three to four years.
The UNC football program has a rather large recruiting Class of 2024, as 27 student-athletes officially signed with the Tar Heels throughout the day on Wednesday. This is the UNC football program's largest incoming recruiting class over the past 15 years.

Tim Lawson- Tight End
Lucas Osada- Kicker
Jalon Thompson- Defensive Back
Evan Bennett- Linebacker
Jaiden Patterson- Defensive Back
Aidan Banfield- Offensive Lineman
Leroy Jackson- Defensive Lineman
Ryan Ward- Tight End
Desmond Jackson- Offensive Lineman
Tyshun White- Defensive Back
Michael Merdinger- Quarterback
Peter Pesansky- Defensive Lineman
Javarius Green- Wide Receiver
Malcolm Ziglar- Defensive Back
Khalil Conley- Defensive Back
Andrew Rosinski- Offensive LIneman
Jani Norwood- Offensive Lineman
Alex Taylor- Wide Receiver
Jordan Shipp- Wide Receiver
Curtis Simpson- Jack
Zion Ferguson- Defensive Back
Crews Law- Linebacker
Daniel Anderson- Jack
Lue Masterson- Offensive Lineman
Davion Gause- Running Back
Tyrane Stewart- Defensive Back
Of the 27 players who officially joined the program on Wednesday, 21 are enrolling early, which will give them a jump start of preparing for their true freshman seasons.
The UNC football program addressed every position on the field, as this group possesses talent in all aspects of the game. Over time, the hope is that this group is one that we all look back on and say they were a big part of building something special in Chapel Hill.
