UNC Football program jumps into the mix for Class of 2027 cornerback
With most of the focus surrounding the Class of 2025 and Class of 2026, college football programs across the country are still keeping a close eye on the class that follows.
The year 2027 seems like it's far away, but this recruiting class will begin to heat up. Mack Brown and the UNC football program have recently extended an offer to a player in this class whose recruitment is following that heating up path.
Larry Moon III announced on social media that he has received an offer from the Tar Heels. A 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback, Moon III is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native who plays his high school football for Aliquippa High School.
Even though he's only a freshman, there's already been a good amount of interest heading his way. Pittsburgh and West Virginia made official offers back in June of 2023, as other schools, such as Maryland, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Miami, USC, Florida State and Kentucky have all followed suit over the last few months.
Heck, at this point, player rankings aren't even released for this class, but that hasn't stopped programs from extending offers to one of the best prospects in the state of Pennsylvania.
As his high school career continues to progress, expect plenty of other programs to jump into the mix. In the same token, expect the programs that have been in the mix from essentially the start, to be heavy players in his recruitment.
The UNC football program might not have been the first school to offer this talented prospect, but expect them to continuously pursue him as they hope to lure him out of the state of Pennsylvania to bring him to Chapel Hill.
