Four teams remain in the recruitment of three-star edge Herbert Scroggins, as the UNC football program is still in the mix.

The field of teams still in the mix is ACC-heavy, as Georgia Tech and Miami join the UNC football program among the finalists. Auburn represents the SEC as the only non-ACC squad to make the cut.

According to 247Sports, Scroggins is viewed as a three-star talent. The Savannah, Georgia native is viewed as the No. 406 overall player in the class. He ranks as the No. 36 edge rusher in the Class of 2025.

As stated in his above social media post, Scroggins is expected to announce his future destination on June 25. While the UNC football program would love to add this talented student-athlete to their future defense, they may have some ground to make up in this particular recruiting battle.

Momentum seems to be favoring the Auburn Tigers, as three Crystal Ball predictions have been placed in their favor since June 16. Although the confidence levels for all three are set at medium confidence, the analysts who have placed their predictions have been essentially spot-on with their picks, as they have just one combined "miss" for the 2025 class (out of 109 predictions).

Sure, things can change (as we've seen plenty of times before), but as of now, the favorite appears to be the lone SEC school in the mix.

A few days away from his official decision, we'll have to wait and see if Mack Brown and company can pick up momentum to sway this talented prospect to Chapel Hill.
