UNC Football: Omarion Hampton named an AP First-Team Preseason All-American
Omarion Hampton has essentially earned every preseason accolade that a college football player could receive.
Another one came in on Monday as the UNC football star was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press. He was one of two running backs to earn first-team honors, joining Ollie Gordon II of Oklahoma State on the list.
Hampton is coming off a stellar sophomore season in which he ran for 1,504 yards and 15 touchdowns. He earned first-team All-ACC accolades and earned numerous All-American honors for his efforts, as he developed into a key focal point for the UNC football program's offensive attack.

Heading into his junior season, Hampton is doing what he does best- moving forward. Hampton has stated that he's looking to reach the 2,000 yard rushing mark this season. If he's able to accomplish that feat, he'll end up in New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist when the season comes to a close.
