Fans of the UNC football program are no stranger to seeing Drake Maye make miraculous plays on a football field.

From left-handed passes for touchdowns to courageously hurdling over defenders (and taking major hits from it), Maye has shown us all that he's able to defy the ordinary at times.

In the New England Patriots' preseason finale on Sunday night against the Washington Commanders, Maye once again was able to make the most out of a tricky situation.

As Maye dropped back to pass, one of his offensive linemen stepped on his foot, forcing his shoe to come off. The rookie signal-caller didn't panic, as he gracefully kicked the dangling shoe off his foot and proceeded to complete a pass, one that ended up going for a Patriots first down,

Coming into Sunday night's contest, Maye had something to prove in a last effort to win the team's starting quarterback spot. With Jacoby Brissett suffering an injury earlier in the game, Maye entered the game and not only led the team on a 88-yard touchdown drive, but made some timely throws in the process.

Sure, the Patriots want both of their young quarterback's shoes to stay on at all times, but hey, Maye can still make things happen even when things go a bit awry.

Fans of the UNC football program can attest that Maye is a magician on the field. Now, he'll look to continue his act as a starter in the NFL.
