Following a serious season-ending injury that he suffered in the UNC football program's season opener, Johnson was finally cleared to return back to Chapel Hill. He spent two weeks in Minnesota being treated for the injury, as his father, Brad, shared the above post that confirmed his return to North Carolina.
Without a doubt, Mack Brown and the UNC football program are happy to have him back on campus. Brown shared a photo of him with Johnson on social media, thanking those who helped take care of his quarterback over the last few weeks.

Injuries like the one Johnson suffered are the worst part of sports, as student-athletes' lives are tremendously impacted when they go through instances like this. It also takes a toll on their families, as they are just as much a part of this journey along with the student-athlete.
No one, especially Johnson, wanted to see his first game with the UNC football program go down like it did. Although it's unfortunate that the cards played out this way, the good news is that Johnson is back in Chapel Hill and is ready to take on his road to recovery as he aims to return to the field in 2025.
I think I can speak for everyone in saying, it's great to have you home Max!
