The UNC football program had quite a few key contributors sidelined when they took the field on Saturday against NC Central.

Along with star defender Kaimon Rucker (who is slated to miss a few weeks due to injury), the Tar Heels were also without starting center Austin Blaske, placekicker Noah Burnette and others.

On Monday, head coach Mack Brown provided some injury updates that seems to trend in more positive nature.

Brown confirmed that Blaske and Burnette, along with Darwin Barlow, DeAndre Boykins, and Aidan Banfield (who also missed Saturday's game) will he worked back into the mix this week. Wide receiver Nate McCollum will also be monitored as he's dealing with an injury, while Rucker was already ruled out for this week's contest.

The good news is that it seems like the majority of players who are injured are trending in the right direction. While some may still be sidelined this week, it's realistic to say that all of them could be returning to the mix in the very near future.

Rucker's case is a bit more tricky, as the UNC football program likely has a timetable that they won't disclose until it comes closer to his return to the field.

The UNC football program closes out a three-game home stand (and non-conference action) as they host JMU in a battle of unbeaten teams. Kickoff at Kenan Stadium is scheduled for 12:00 PM EST.
