The UNC football program has been very active on the recruiting trail, as one of its latest scholarship offers goes to a in-state product who has a very familiar last name.

On social media, three-star cornerback Camdin Portis announced that he has received an offer from the UNC football program. The Charlotte, North Carolina native is the son of two-time NFL Pro Bowler and 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year Clinton Portis.

Portis is listed at 6-foot, 165-pounds, as 247Sports currently tabs him as the No. 15 overall prospect from the state of North Carolina within the 2026 recruiting class. As a sophomore at Myers Park High School, Portis recorded 18 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 2 interceptions along with a forced fumble.

Over the last few months, Portis' recruitment has started to heat up, as he's also earned offers from UCLA, Penn State, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Houston and NC State. His father's alma mater, Miami, also extended an offer to him back on April 4.

The UNC football program has now extended scholarship offers to 21 in-state products from the Class of 2026, as the emphasis to keep the state's top players home has been well on display. Although it's still relatively early for this recruiting class, expect things to heat up quickly over the next few months, as the Tar Heels will look to be heavy players in the recruitment of some very talented players from the state of North Carolina.
