UNC Football: British Brooks scores first TWO NFL (preseason) touchdowns!
Signed as an undrafted free agent, former UNC football standout British Brooks is working toward earning a spot on the Houston Texans 53-man roster.
Well, his strong performance on Saturday afternoon should help strengthen his case!
Brooks recorded his first NFL preseason touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Texans' contest against the New York Giants, as he found the end zone from six yards out. The former Tar Heel wasn't done, as he would add another score on the team's ensuing drive.
Brooks was able to find a hole and break into open space for a 15-yard score with just under four minutes to play. Both touchdowns scored by Brooks essentially sealed the deal to help the Texans clinch their second consecutive preseason win.
It was a very productive day for Brooks, as he was able to showcase what he's capable of as a running back. To add to his ability in the backfield, Brooks proved during his time with the UNC football program that he could be a very valuable special teams player, a role that could help him earn a roster spot out of training camp.
As players battle for roster spots, consider this a very good day for British Brooks, as he'll look to build on this performance leading into the Texans' final preseason contest.
