After Duke's loss to NC State, many Tar Heel fans thought their week couldn't get any better. North Carolina is vying for a one-seed in the NCAA Tournament and one of its major roadblocks has been the Tennessee Volunteers.
However, as the Vols opened their postseason against Mississippi State, they also opened up a massive deficit against the Bulldogs.
With Tennessee out of the way, the Tar Heels are staring down a top seed in the NCAA Tournament and a much easier road to yet another national championship.
As Tennessee faced an impending loss and elimination from the SEC Tournament, Heels fans went wild on social media.
And Lunardi is still going to say that we need to win ACC tourney to be considered for a #1 π€¦ββοΈ #GoHeels

Tennessee never led in its game against Mississippi State and saw its biggest halftime deficit of 19 points after the first 20 minutes.
I hope this can stop all the bullshit @Vol_Hoops is a 1 seed over @UNC_Basketball #GoHeels

Tennessee is going to lose to Mississippi State by double digits in the SEC Tournament.

Thatβs great news for #UNC
I don't know how they are still arguing for Tenn to be the 4th #1. UNC dominated FSU in their first conf tournament game, while Tenn is about to lose their 1st game by almost 20.#GoHeels

Joe Lunardi, the king of NCAA basketball bracketology, has been continuously seeding Tennessee ahead of North Carolina and it hasn't sat well with the Heels or their fans.
Even Mississippi State players, like guard Josh Hubbard, were delving out digs at the Vols after their dominant performance.
The Volunteers were outscored by 28 points in the paint and lost 73-56 to the Bulldogs.
UNC is scheduled to play at 7 p.m. ET against the Pittsburgh Panthers.
