Vinsanity. Coming to a video game cover near you!

The NBA 2K video game team released the annual cover athletes for the upcoming edition, as former UNC basketball legend and soon to be NBA Hall of Famer Vince Carter will be featured on one of the covers.

Fittingly, Carter will be the Hall of Fame Edition cover (as seen above). Jayson Tatum and A'Ja Wilson will grace the cover of the regular NBA 2K25 video game.

Carter is no stranger to being on the cover of a video game, as this will mark his third time as a cover athlete. He last appeared on the cover of NBA Live 04 and was previously featured on the 2002 version of NBA Inside Drive.

Set to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in October, it's fitting that Carter has been tabbed as this year's Hall of Fame Edition cover athlete. The cover's theme is "half man, half amazing," as the iconic picture from the 2000 dunk contest is featured, with Carter displayed as half man and half bronze (like a statue).

In a official press release shared by 2K, Carter spoke about this honor:

“Between the honors NBA 2K and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame have bestowed upon me, this year is an unforgettable one, making me pause with gratitude at my career. Being named a cover athlete would have always been a special moment for me, but it is a particular honor to be on the cover of the NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition.”

The game will come out September 6 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are available now, as the Hall of Fame Edition will provide gamers with the following bonuses:

-Everything in the All-Star Edition bundle
