Those are just recent names of talented guards that have come from the tri-state area who have worn the Carolina Blue.

The UNC basketball program has done well in recruiting tri-state area talents, as they already have their eye on another true point-guard from the Class of 2026.

In a conversation with HS Top Recruiting, the father of four-star Deron Rippey Jr. stated that the UNC basketball program has begun to express interest in recruiting his son. Rippey Jr., a 6-foot-2, 175-pound point guard from Blairstown, New Jersey, is currently ranked as the No. 21 overall player in the Class of 2026 (according to 247 Sports).

Rippey Jr. has seen his recruitment heat up a lot, as he's already earned offers from Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Oklahoma State, St. John's, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Villanova, and Wake Forest.

Blue Blood programs, such as Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina, have also started expressing interest, and it may not take long for these schools to extend scholarship offers to him soon.

If Rippey Jr. wants to learn more about North Carolina, he can tap into the resources the current roster possesses. Guys like Cadeau and Davis can attest that guards from the tri-state area could most definitely succeed in Chapel Hill, especially with the way Hubert Davis likes to utilize his guards.
