UNC Basketball projected starting lineup for the 2024-2025 season
This is going to sound cliche, but I'll say it anyways:
Jalen Washington waited his turn, and now it's his opportunity to take over the reins at the center position.
With Armando Bacot in town, Washington was limited in his role. He could've transferred to earn more immediate opportunities elsewhere, but elected to stay put and put in the work in order to get better.
Now, he'll have the chance to be the starting center for the Tar Heels.
Yes, Ven-Allen Lubin transferred in from Vanderbilt (after being a starter for the Commodores), but given the fact that he's an undersized center with limited offensive prowess factors into how the starting lineup will look like.
It will remain to be seen just how many minutes per game Hubert Davis and his staff think they can get out of Washington, but expect to see a good amount of both of these guys at the position this season.
For now, it seems like it's Washington's job to lose, as UNC basketball fans should see what he's really capable of in his first real taste of an expanded role.
