UNC Basketball program puts on a 'Senior Night' performance to remember

In their final home game of the 2023-2024 season, the UNC basketball program put together a performance to remember.

On 'Senior Night' the Tar Heels sent out their six (potentially seven) seniors out with a bang as they earned a 33-point victory over Notre Dame. The win secures at least a tie of the ACC regular season crown for the guys in Carolina Blue.

The Tar Heels held their traditional 'Senior Night' festivities prior to the game, as the Dean Smith Center crowd gave Armando Bacot a loud ovation before his final game in Chapel Hill. As RJ Davis, who has a year of eligibility remaining, was announced, fans chanted "one more year!" in hopes of the White Plains, New York native staying a little while longer.

Even with an altered starting lineup, featuring Creighton Lebo, Duwe Farris, and Rob Landry, the UNC basketball program essentially dominated from the jump. The Tar Heels did not trail, as they took a 15-point lead into the break and extended the lead to over 30 in the second half en large part to separate runs of 15-0 and 18-0 runs.

Davis, who has essentially solidified the ACC Player of the Year Award, led all scorers with 22 points. Both Armando Bacot and Cormac Ryan scored 14 points in their final home games, while Harrison Ingram (11 points, 14 rebounds) and Jalen Washington (10 points) also scored in double-figures.

Oh, and did we mention that Armando Bacot went 2-2 from three-point range, including a long range three, a shot that will be his final one on his home court?!

Yeah, didn't expect that one!

It was a bittersweet night in Chapel Hill, as the program (and the fan base) got one final chance to thank the seniors for what they've contributed to the UNC basketball program. Although we won't get to see Bacot and potentially Davis suit up for another home game, Tuesday night was a special night that Tar Heels fans will never forget.
