Isiah Harwell's recruitment is starting to heat up rather quickly.

Harwell, a top 10 recruit in the Class of 2025, was considering the UNC basketball program among his top 9 schools, but has now eliminated them from his list as he narrowed it down to four.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard has narrowed his recruitment to the follow four programs: California, Gonzaga, Houston, and Texas. Along with naming his finalists, he also revealed that he plans to announce his commitment on September 12.

North Carolina was one of five schools to not make the cut, as Baylor, UCLA, Alabama, and Idaho State are now also out of the mix.

The UNC basketball program was heavily involved throughout Harwell's recruitment, as the top-10 talent once revealed that North Carolina was his "dream school." However, those dreams have changed, as Harwell believes it's best for him to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Of course, it's important to remember that you're not going to land every top-tier talent during the recruiting cycle. Sometimes, it simply doesn't work out, as Hubert Davis and his staff will turn their attention to other players that they have interest in from the Class of 2025.

There are plenty of offers from the Tar Heels for this talented upcoming graduating class. The UNC basketball program hopes to add some impact players to help shape the team's roster for the foreseeable future.

Sure, this is a disappointing one given the Tar Heels interest in him, but there's plenty of time to make some noise on the recruiting trail for the UNC basketball program.
