The No. 1 ranked power forward in the Class of 2026 officially has a scholarship offer from the UNC basketball program.

Tyran Stokes, the No. 2 overall ranked prospect in the Class of 2026, announced that Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels extended an offer to him on Monday. Stokes made the announcement via the above social media post.

The Napa, California native has been a hot commodity on the recruiting trail, as his combination of size, skill and athleticism make coaches dream about adding him to their future roster. It's been a busy week for Stokes, because not only can he (and his graduating class) officially be contacted by college coaches, but he is also competing for a spot on the USA Basketball's 17U World Cup team this week.

It's safe to say that the UNC basketball program has studied Stokes' game quite a bit, as he's current AAU teammates with Class of 2025 star AJ Dybantsa (who also holds an offer from the Tar Heels). North Carolina joins a long list of programs who have extended an offer to Stokes, as plenty more should be coming given the way his current recruitment is going.

Hubert Davis and his staff have been reaching out to various members of the Class of 2026 over the past few days, but it shows how much they like him by extending him an offer right away. As of now, only Stokes and Cole Cloer hold offers from the UNC basketball program, which gives the indication that both players will be priority recruiting targets over the next couple of months.

Stokes is arguably the best player that the Class of 2026 has to offer, as the UNC basketball program is officially in the mix as they hope he decides to call Chapel Hill his future home.
