After closing out the regular season with wins over Notre Dame and Duke, the UNC basketball program, the 2023-2024 ACC regular season champions, are now among the top five teams in the country in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

The Tar Heels jumped three spots from No. 7 to No. 4, as they leapfrogged Tennessee, Arizona and Iowa State. They are one of just two ACC teams in this week's poll, as Duke (who was No. 9 a week ago) comes in at No. 11 in the latest rankings.

North Carolina took care of business on the court, claiming the ACC regular season title outright. Their overall success this season has definitely earned them a spot among the nation's top teams, as they finally jumped the Volunteers, a team that they beat earlier in the season.

This has been a memorable season for the now-ranked No. 4 Tar Heels, who look to prove that they are among the nation's best over the final stretch of the 2023-2024 college basketball season.

Now that the regular season has ended, the UNC basketball program will focus on postseason play. The Tar Heels hope to win this week's ACC Tournament in Washington, DC, and then make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

The UNC basketball program will kick off the ACC Tournament on Thursday afternoon, as their opponent is still to be determined.
