Over the last few days, Inside Carolina has been on top of the news of a potential roster update for the UNC basketball program.

On Tuesday night, that news was unfortunately confirmed.

The school announced that forward Zayden High will not play for the UNC basketball program during the 2024-2025 school year. High is currently not enrolled at North Carolina, as the Inside Carolina report indicates that its an off-the-court matter.

Isaac Schade provided the details as to what the current plan is for High:

The plan is for High to redshirt for the 2024-2025 season, as he is expected to be back with the team for the following year. He will re-enroll at North Carolina this spring and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

High made 23 appearances during his freshman season with the UNC basketball program, as his high-motor and energy were well on display even though his minutes were limited.

Of course, you never want to see situations like this, as this matter seems to be one that High is dealing with outside of the sport of basketball. At this point, the hope is that High can return to the university and ultimately to the UNC basketball team, as we all wish to see him put on the Carolina Blue uniform once again in the future.

While there will be many speculations made regarding this situation, everyone should be hoping for the best for Zayden High and his family during this time.
