The UNC basketball program suffered its first loss in ACC to Georgia Tech earlier in the week, but rebounded nicely by defeating rival Duke on Saturday night.
Although the loss to the Yellow Jackets was a tough one, it wasn't enough to take the top spot away from the Tar Heels.
For starters, beating Duke, who was No. 2 on our list last week, gave them an edge right there.
The other advantage in favor of the Tar Heels is their two-game lead in the ACC standings.
Virginia right now is on the longest winning streak of any ACC team, but have yet to play Duke and North Carolina. If the Cavaliers keep winning, they will challenge for the top spot, but until the Tar Heels falter a bit more, the top spot is theirs for the taking.
