Tar Heel nation continues to be the most elite fan base in the entire country.

For the second consecutive season, the UNC basketball program led the country in average attendance, as an average of 20,593 fans attended the Tar Heels 15 games at the Dean Smith Center this past season. According to Michael Koh of WCHL, this marks the first time that the Tar Heels have averaged 20,000+ fans since the 2019-2020 season, which was just before the COVID-19 pandemic.

North Carolina and Syracuse are the only schools in the country to average 20,000+ fans per game, as the Orange averaged 20,288 fans per contest. While the Tar Heels' total attendance number is lower than some programs on the list, it's important to note that each of those teams played anywhere from one to three extra home games, as it's safe to say the UNC basketball program would've been well ahead of the pack had they played more at home.

Fans were treated to another special season in Chapel Hill, as Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program won 14 of their 15 contests on Roy Williams Court at the Dean Smith Center. Who could forget RJ Davis' 42-point performance against Miami or the UNC basketball program's victories over Duke and NC State?!

Needless to say, Tar Heel faithful continue to prove why they are the best fan base in the country, as they consistently show up for the UNC basketball program. It provides a huge home-court advantage for the boys in Carolina Blue, as the energy from the crowd makes the Dean Dome a very difficult place for opposing players to compete.

The numbers don't lie: when the UNC basketball program is playing on its home court, expect a lot of fans to be in attendance.
