UNC Basketball jumps into the mix for Class of 2025 big man
Eric Reibe has stated that he wants to make a college decision before the start of his senior year of high school.
Well, given his busy summer, plus the increased attention he's been receiving, that will be a difficult task for sure.
Reibe, a four-star talent from Maryland, has received numerous offers over the last few weeks. Since June 25, Kentucky, Stanford, UConn, and the UNC basketball program have extended offers to him.
247Sports Composite tabs Reibe as the No. 41 overall player in the Class of 2025 and the top talent out of the state of Maryland. His size and skill set make him a valuable recruiting target, as he is developing into a player who can be more than just a post player offensively while also being a strong defender of the rim.
Reibe discussed his recruitment with Jamie Shaw of On3 and had some positive things to say about the Tar Heels. Although Creighton may be considered the "favorite" at this point, the teams who officially threw their hats into the ring of late, including the UNC basketball program, may make a strong push to change that over time.
The UNC basketball program is in need of some big man depth, as the roster for the 2024-2025 season is rather undersized given what we're used to seeing. Adding a player like Reibe could be a major additon to the future frontcourt, as he's the type of big man that could really thrive in Hubert Davis' system.
With 17 offers on the table, North Carolina doesn't currently have any players committed to the Class of 2025. Over the next few months, that is almost certain to change, as the Tar Heels wide range of offers will potentially land a few Class of 2025 talents to Chapel Hill.
