With Armando Bacot exhausting his eligibility, the UNC basketball program has some pretty big shoes to fill at the "center" position.
Although Jalen Washington is currently on the roster for next season, Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are exploring potential transfer portal options to add some front court depth.

According to NJ.com's Adam Zagoria, the Tar Heels are among the latest programs to get involved with Rutgers transfer big man Clifford Omoruyi. Zagoria lists the UNC basketball program and Boston College as the latest schools to reach out to the talented big man, who has one season of college eligibility remaining.
Omoruyi spent his first four seasons at Rutgers, as he developed into a near double-double threat. His best season came as a junior, as he averaged 13.2 points and 9.6 rebounds, as he served as a very valuable rim protector for the Scarlet Knights.
The 6-foot-11, 240-pound big man isn't necessarily a threat from outside the paint, but is a very consistent presence within it. If Hubert Davis and his staff are looking for a player to compliment Jalen Washington, Omoruyi is a player that provides some of the same skillset that Bacot showcased during his Tar Heels career.
Of course, there will be plenty of names in the transfer portal that the UNC basketball program will explore, as we've been hearing about potential interest essentially since (and even before) the 2023-2024 season came to a close.
One thing is certain: expect the Tar Heels to be heavily active in their pursuit of adding another big man to the mix for next season's roster.
