UNC Basketball: Hubert Davis Makes Trip to HoopHall To Catch Top Recruit In Action
By Jordan Falls
The life of a college basketball coach is a crazy one. UNC Basketball coach Hubert Davis witnessed his 2023-2024 Tar Heels route Syracuse on Saturday afternoon 103-67, and just a few hours later, was making a visit to watch Class of 2025 five-star recruit Koa Peat compete in action.
Peat, who stands at six-foot-eight, is currently ranked by 247Sports as the No. 4 overall recruit in the Class of 2025 and the No. 2 power forward in the class. Just this past week, Peat narrowed his list of schools down to ten, and the UNC Basketball program made the cut.
The Gilbert, Arizona, native would be a huge commitment for Hubert Davis and the UNC Basketball program if they are able to get him to come to Chapel Hill. While the Tar Heels are battling nine other schools for Peat's commitment to the hardwood, if you're a UNC Basketball fan, you must be pleased with the direction his recruitment is going and the effort Hubert Davis puts into recruiting him.
The dedication and effort that Hubert Davis is putting into recruiting Peat can not be emphasized enough. Davis and the Tar Heels wrapped up their victory over the Orange at approximately 2:00 PM Eastern time, and just seven hours later, Davis was in Springfield, Massachusetts, watching Peat play in the Spalding Hoophall Classic.
No one knows how long Peat will leave his recruitment open, as the Class of 2025 is still over a year and a half away from stepping foot on campus, but this is just another step in the recruiting battle that should have Tar Heel fans pleased.
The Spalding Hoophall Classic is an annual showcase in its 22nd year and this year consisted of 18 of the nation's top 25 high school basketball teams. To learn more about the Spalding Hoophall Classic, please click here.
