Hubert Davis was one of the coaches who was in attendance early at the John Wall Holiday Invitational, and his presence was also a factor later on during the first day of the annual event.

The UNC basketball program's head coach was on hand to check out Jackson Keith in the opening game of the invitational and later returned to the gym to check out another Class of 2025 standout.

Four-star wing Nate Ament was the reason for Davis' appearance, as he put together a big-time performance in front of the Tar Heels head coach. Ament, a 6-foot-7, 170-pound wing from Warrenton, Virginia, finished the evening with 20 points and 11 rebounds in a close loss to Millbrook on Wednesday night.

Although the UNC basketball program has not extended an official offer to Ament yet, that could change rather quickly. The Class of 2025 standout currently ranks as the No. 14 overall player in his recruiting class and the top prospect out of the state of Virginia (according to 247Sports). He has received a strong amount of interest up till this point, as he currently holds offers from the likes of Duke, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Indiana and Missouri (among others).

Davis and the UNC basketball program have been taking a deep look at the Class of 2025, as they already have 9 scholarship offers extended to members of this recruiting class. Both Ament and Keith may be next on that list, as it appears that they have both drawn the interest of the UNC basketball program as they look to put together their next recruiting haul.
