The UNC basketball program is looking to add players who can shoot in the transfer portal.

None may be better than Dayton transfer Koby Brea.

Brea is coming off a season in which he connected on 51.2% of his shots from the floor, including a staggering 49.8% from three-point range. When you can shoot at an elite level, top-tier programs are going to come calling, as Brea has quite the top five list of schools he is considering.

Brea's five finalists are as follows: North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, UConn and Kentucky. The Dayton transfer narrowed down his recruitment after conducting Zoom meetings with potential suitors.

Adding the Washington Heights, New York native would be a huge addition for the UNC basketball program, as his ability to score from essentially anywhere on the floor could really help the Tar Heels offense flourish. He would also help serve as a replacement for Cormac Ryan, who made a major impact in his lone season at North Carolina.

The transfer portal news keeps surfacing, as the UNC basketball program has yet to officially add any new players to the mix. After Harrison Ingram's announcement to declare for the NBA Draft, the Tar Heels have five scholarships to work with, as adding a player of Koby Brea could be a major move for the UNC basketball program this offseason.

North Carolina's involvement in Brea's recruitment has been quiet, as there weren't many rumblings that they were involved to begin with. However, their Zoom meeting with the Dayton transfer seemed to make a major impact, as the Blue Blood programs will now compete for a commitment from arguably the top available shooter in the transfer portal.
