UNC Basketball: Four-star big man cancels his upcoming visit to North Carolina

Following his visit to Kansas, four-star Class of 2025 big man Eric Reibe has made some adjustments to his recruitment tour.

One of those adjustments won't make UNC basketball fans very happy...

As first reported by Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog, Reibe has cancelled two visits: one to North Carolina and the other to Kentucky. The Potomac, Maryland, native is still expected to visit UCONN this weekend while Oregon, Indiana and Creighton remain in the mix.

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program made the cut when Reibe narrowed his recruitment to 11 schools, and his official visit was scheduled essentially a week later. However, the plans have changed, as it now looks as if the Tar Heels are officially out of the mix for this four-star big man.

North Carolina already missed out on Malachi Moreno (who recently committed to Kentucky) and is now seemingly out on Reibe as well. It's no secret that the UNC basketball program could use another big man/stretch four, and it will be very interesting to see how the Tar Heels pivot following this news.

It's very likely that Davis and his staff are already working on another plan. We'll have to wait and see if the Tar Heels prioritize players they've already offered or elect to extend offers to other Class of 2025 big men that are still available.

The world of recruiting can be tough. It's important to remember that not every player wants to be a Tar Heel, and quite franky, that's okay.

Now we wait for the UNC basketball program to find the student-athletes who want to be part of what the Tar Heels have to offer.
