UNC Basketball extends offer to Class of 2026 five-star Caleb Holt
It's bee a very busy summer for Caleb Holt, as he not only competed with Team USA in the U17 FIBA World Cup, but has also been putting in the work on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
Through all his time spent on various basketball courts over the last few weeks, the New Market, Alabama has continued to show why many view him as a top-three overall prospect in the Class of 2026.
Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program have been keeping close tabs on Holt, as they've finally extended an offer his way.
Holt announced his latest offer from the Tar Heels on Sunday night, as he used some old-school photos to help make the announcement. Kenny "The Jet" Smith was used as the player photo that Holt selected to use, as he also included an older photo of the Dean Smith Center.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound small forward is viewed by 247Sports Composite as the No. 3 overall player in his graduating class. He also holds down the top spot among Class of 2026 prospects coming from his hometown state of Alabama.
At this point, a variety of Division I programs have already extended offers to Holt, as many more are expected over the next few months. If he continues to play at the elite level he showcased during international and AAU play, top-tier programs will be putting on the full-court press to add him to their future roster.
The UNC basketball program has been limited in who they've offered from the Class of 2026, as Holt becomes just the fourth player from this class to receive an offer from the Tar Heels. This goes to show how much Hubert Davis and his staff like this prospect, as they believe he could be a star in Chapel Hill if he elects to attend the University of North Carolina in the future.
